It’s Community Club Awareness Week, and we’re celebrating community clubs as Queensland’s real social network.
Clubs provide the one-on-one connection that is increasingly missing from people’s everyday lives, giving people the chance to volunteer with a new group, take part in activities, build new friendships, catch up with others and feel part of their local community.
It can also be as simple as noticing when someone hasn’t been around and checking in to see if everything is okay. That sense of community and looking out for one another is an important part of what clubs provide.
